New manager needs help with employees.Do you agree?

You are a manager of a small radiology department. One of your long-time technologists from the evening shift moves away from the area, leaving an opening for you to fill. You post an opening and interview three candidates for the job. All seem qualified for the position; however, one candidate has significantly more experience than the other two candidates and so you hire the candidate with the most experience. The evening shift is comprised of three technologists. One technologist is proficient in CT and Diagnostic radiology. The other two (the existing tech and the new hire) are single-modality technologists: Diagnostic/Fluoroscopy. The evening shift work flow is composed of primarily Emergency Department exams. There is a dedicated radiology room located in the Emergency Department and the main department is a short distance away. The evening supervisor (the CT/Diag tech) assigns the two diagnostic technologists a rotating schedule to run the ED room and the other to staff the main department. The department technologist is responsible for covering any late surgery procedures, portable exams, and to help the ED technologist when possible. Both diagnostic technologists are opinionated and have a quick temper. One night, tempers flared and the two technologists start yelling at each other over a seemingly petty issue. The supervisor is summoned and breaks up the two before actual blows are struck. The next day, the Supervisor reports seeing aggressive postures, yelling, and a near fist-fight in the ED Radiology room. The Evening Supervisor is new to management and needs some help with the situation. What actions would you take in this situation? Submit your resolution following the writing guidelines.

Based on your own results and how you thought/felt during the test, would you say the IPIP-NEO is generally valid or generally invalid?

1. Based on your own results and how you thought/felt during the test, would you say the IPIP-NEO is generally valid or generally invalid? Explain your answer and give at least 1 specific way the test could be improved. Note: “Make the test shorter” is a bad answer because that would lower the test’s validity. Think of a different way to improve the test. Also, “Personality can’t be measured” and “people can lie, making the test invalid” are bad answers. Aspects of personality have been scientifically measured for a long time. And while it is possible to lie while taking the IPIP-NEO (it does NOT check for consistency or truthfulness, it rephrases questions to see if your score should be  62/100 or 63/100, for example), that’s not a problem with the test. If a test-taker decides to lie, that’s an issue with the test-taker. 2. Choose 3 *facets* (not factors!) from your test results. For each facet, give an example of that aspect of your personality in action

Create a VoiceThread about your capstone paper. While your paper is not due until Sunday, your VoiceThread is due Friday so your peers have the opportunity to view them and comment. It is understood that you will be refining your paper after your VoiceThread is due, so it is fine if they do not entirely match up with each other. However, the highlights you cover in the VoiceThread should be consistent with the main points of your paper. so he want us to do 8 slides that summarizes the most important parts of our paper. Your VoiceThread should be no more than 10 minutes in length and a total of 8 slides or less. You should use the audio or video comment feature for each of your slide (you cannot use the text comment feature to explain your slides). Your VoiceThread presentation should: Clearly communicate key points of the capstone paper in a highly succinct manner Include a system redesign recommendation and information regarding cost, quality, and access to care and services Include supportive citations where appropriate Be appropriate for audiences including the general public (i.e. consumer perspective) using an acceptable government source for guidance on health literacy (i.e. “How to Write Easy-to-Read Health Materials” http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/etr.html)

Describe a circumstance in which it seems that lying might make more people happy than telling the truth.

Is it ever morally permissible to lie to someone? Describe a circumstance in which it seems that lying might make more people happy than telling the truth. Would lying be the right thing to do in that circumstance, or is it our moral duty to tell the truth, even then? Consider what Immanuel Kant would say, and explain that with reference to this week’s readings. Then, offer your own perspective. If you agree with Kant, consider and respond to an objection to his view. If you disagree with Kant, explain why. Discuss the positive and negative aspects of deontological theory as it relates to another of the theories you have encountered in this course.
