Discuss how COVID-19 has changed recruitment and selection.
What makes a foreign exchange market different than a domestic market? Using examples, describe how forward markets and spot markets operate in the foreign exchange market. Please find attached Chapter 5 which talks about foreign exchange to use as a reference to answer this question. Reference for the chapter is: Eun, C. S., & Resnick, B. G. (2015). Imagine visiting overseas, where you win the local lottery and can buy any foreign car you wish and will pay full retail price using the local currency, payable in three months. You have determined that you have enough cash at your bank in New York City, which pays 0.35 percent interest per month, compounding monthly, to pay for the car. There are two ways to pay for your car: Keep the funds at your bank in the United States and buy a forward contract to pay for the car. Buy a certain currency amount spot today and invest the amount in the foreign bank for three months so that the maturity value becomes equal to the price of the car. Analyze the two alternatives presented and make a recommendation on purchasing the car. How could this purchase opportunity be considered arbitrage? Be sure to provide calculations for your recommendation showing the best alternative. What are the advantages of the alternative that you have selected? I attached chapter read on this week class work to use as reference to answer questions asked. Reference for those chapter is: Eun, C. S., & Resnick, B. G. (2015). Compare the film “The Milk of Sorrow” with one other feature-length film from this course (Embrace of the Serpent, Viva Zapata! or Four Days in September). How in your view do these cinematic works reflect (or even fall short of reflecting) key themes in the history of Latin America? (Do not worry about citing exact time stamps but do be clear about scenes and characters you reference in the essay).

“Incremental analysis involves the examination of alternative choices, based on the cost differences between them. This analysis is solely concerned with the costs that will change if one alternative is selected over another. Any costs that do not change if either alternative is selected are ignored for the purpose of deciding which alternative to pursue. For example, costs that have already been incurred (known as sunk costs) are ignored. Also, if any type of cost will be incurred for both alternatives, then it also can be ignored.”(Bragg, 2019) “For example, a company receives an order from a customer for 1,000 units of a green widget for $12.00 each. The company controller looks up the standard cost for a green widget and finds that it costs the company $14.00. Of this $14.00, $11.00 is a variable cost and $3.00 is a fixed cost. Since the fixed cost is being incurred irrespective of the proposed sale, it is classified as a sunk cost and ignored. This means that the incremental cost of the widget is $11.00. The company should accept the order since it will earn $1.00 per unit sold, or $1,000 in total.” (Bragg, 2019) I would think after using this example to go on, incremental analysis sounds like price shopping to me. If I go to Target and see a pair of shoes for 14$. I then go to Walmart and see the same exact shoes for 13$. I would want to buy at Walmart because of the savings. I would end up keeping an extra dollar in my pocket by shopping at Walmart. Bragg, S. (2019, January 21). Incremental analysis.
COURSE ASSIGNMENT OVERVIEW
For the purposes of this course you will be developing a marketing plan to advise the marketing activity for an organisation of your choice. You will complete the first two assignments as a group (and deliver presentations), while you deliver an INDIVIDUAL plan for Assignment Three.
You can choose an existing business (perhaps one you are interested in working for) or you can consider a start –up business. No group is to do the same organisation / business. Therefore, you need to register your group and the focus of the project on MOODLE by TBC.
The context of the marketing plan is to be the entire domestic (New Zealand) market (you are not to discuss foreign markets)
Research Guidelines for the Assignment:
Students are expected to support their claims regarding the organization and environment, acknowledging their research sources using the APA 6th edition referencing system. This requires the use of in-text citations and a list of references be included as part of this assignment.
Students are expected to use sources that are reliable and appropriate for a document used in business planning.
For this course Wikipedia, Wikis, BusinessDictionary.com and Answers.com are not considered appropriate secondary sources.
Students are not to contact the staff of their chosen business in order to gather any information. This includes face-to-face conversations, emails, letters, texts and phone calls. Students are however encouraged to visit a branch of the business, study their website and consider various media in order to observe their visible marketing tactics.
The contents of the presentations for ASSIGNMENT ONE and TWO are used for the basis of a MARKETING PLAN to be completed in ASSIGNMENT THREE. In other words the presentation content will need to be summarised to provide context for the MARKETING ACTION PLAN.
You will be able to undertake changes to the summaries of your analysis based on the feedback provided during and after your presentations.
Assignment Three
Based on the material created in Assignment One and Two, you are required to develop a Marketing Action Plan following the guidelines below.
This assignment is assessing Learning Outcome Four for the course:
LO4: Design and monitor a marketing plan
To reflect the complete content of an actual marketing plan, you will need to provide a summary of the presentations provided for Assignments 1 and 2.
For the purposes of this assessment, you can simply provide a one-page overview of the key material and attach the PowerPoint slides as an appendix. Normally this material would be provided in full written form for a complete plan, as it provides the context for the ACTION PLAN.
