Explain why you would use these techniques.

Post a summary of the interview and a description of the communication techniques you would use with your assigned patient. Explain why you would use these techniques. Identify the risk assessment instrument you selected, and justify why it would be applicable to the selected patient. Provide at least five targeted questions you would ask the patient.

Chapter 1, “The History and Interviewing Process”
This chapter explains the process of developing relationships with patients in order to build an effective health history. The authors offer suggestions for adapting the creation of a health history according to age, gender, and disability.

Chapter 5, “Recording Information”
This chapter provides rationale and methods for maintaining clear and accurate records. The authors also explore the legal aspects of patient records

Present some migrations trends (Latinos) which have created changes in the labor force especially in some parts of the USA.

Analysis, discuss and present your perspective on these (NOT necessary in the same order):
• Start with the basic premise of the case.
• Present some migrations trends (Latinos) which have created changes in the labor force especially in some parts of the USA. What are similarities and differences?
• Detail examples of cultural misunderstandings you have encountered, while reading the case. Why did they exist?
• Any legal and ethical dilemmas that exist in the organization?
• Assess the probable reasons for the unusual behaviors Sam Haws’ human resources directors observed
• Recommend specific proposals/programs to effectively deal with the various situations presented. What programs would you develop for Latinos? What programs would you recommend for your Anglo workforce? Include an implementation plan and time-frame for this cultural change
• Finally, recommend the profile of an HR Director
• What factors about the company/job would attract the person to the company? Bring in Recruitment, Selection & Retention strategies

What type of drug should you prescribe based on your patient’s diagnosis?

What type of drug should you prescribe based on your patient’s diagnosis? How much of the drug should the patient receive? How often should the drug be administered? When should the drug not be prescribed? Are there individual patient factors that could create complications when taking the drug? Should you be prescribing drugs to this patient? How might different state regulations affect the prescribing of this drug to this patient?

These are some of the questions you might consider when selecting a treatment plan for a patient.

As an advanced practice nurse prescribing drugs, you are held accountable for people’s lives every day. Patients and their families will often place trust in you because of your position. With this trust comes power and responsibility, as well as an ethical and legal obligation to “do no harm.” It is important that you are aware of current professional, legal, and ethical standards for advanced practice nurses with prescriptive authority. Additionally, it is important to ensure that the treatment plans and administration/prescribing of drugs is in accordance with the regulations of the state in which you practice. Understanding how these regulations may affect the prescribing of certain drugs in different states may have a significant impact on your patient’s treatment plan. In this Assignment, you explore ethical and legal implications of scenarios and consider how to appropriately respond.

To Prepare

Review the Resources for this module and consider the legal and ethical implications of prescribing prescription drugs, disclosure, and nondisclosure.
Search specific laws and standards for prescribing prescription drugs and for addressing medication errors for your state or region, and reflect on these as you review the scenario assigned by your Instructor.
Consider the ethical and legal implications of the scenario for all stakeholders involved, such as the prescriber, pharmacist, patient, and patient’s family.
Think about two strategies that you, as an advanced practice nurse, would use to guide your ethically and legally responsible decision-making in this scenario, including whether you would disclose any medication errors.

Scenario: As a nurse practitioner, you prescribe medications for your patients. You make an error when prescribing medication to a 5-year-old patient. Rather than dosing him appropriately, you prescribe a dose suitable for an adult.

Write a 2- to 3-page paper that addresses the following:

Explain the ethical and legal implications of the scenario on all stakeholders involved, such as the prescriber, pharmacist, patient, and patient’s family.

Describe strategies to address disclosure and nondisclosure as identified in the scenario you selected. Be sure to reference laws specific to your state.

Explain two strategies that you, as an advanced practice nurse, would use to guide your decision making in this scenario, including whether you would disclose your error. Be sure to justify your explanation.

Explain the process of writing prescriptions, including strategies to minimize medication errors.

Discuss your impression of the meeting as it relates to the collaboration between members of the IEP team, compliance with IDEA, and whether ethical principles of professional practice were demonstrated during the execution of the IEP process.

After completing “Differentiated Instruction: Maximizing the Learning of All Students” and “RTI (PART 1),” describe how a multi-tiered system of support and response to intervention can support the learning of all students in a classroom. List at least four benefits of using MTSS/RTI with struggling students. Defend your reasons with citations and references. In replies to peers, discuss additional benefits that have not already been mentioned.

Review the “”FIEP: A Facilitated IEP Meeting.” Discuss your impression of the meeting as it relates to the collaboration between members of the IEP team, compliance with IDEA, and whether ethical principles of professional practice were demonstrated during the execution of the IEP process. Defend your ideas by citing specific examples from the video. In replies to peers, discuss whether you agree or disagree with the opinions presented and justify your response using evidence from the video and other study materials.

What the cost estimates were to initiate and/or maintain these capabilities?

Within the context of Smart Cities, many regions are employing e-technologies to enhance public service. Today’s cities and towns reveal improvements to providing public services because of e-government capabilities. Select a town or city located in the United States, and write an investigative summary detailing at least one e-government application that has improved public service provided to the citizenry. Refer to the unit study guide for application ideas that include wireless technology services or mobile apps used on smartphones to enhance public services.

Your paper should logically identify the following items:

who the service impacts (lists all stakeholders and beneficiaries),
what the technology offers (identify what the capabilities the service provides),
where the service is located,
when the capability or service began,
why the technology enhances or improves services, and
what the cost estimates were to initiate and/or maintain these capabilities.
