Healthcare Analytics; Regulations, Clinical Quality, and Patient Safety
As many healthcare facilities seek to implement analytical patient quality and clinical value in collaboration with electronic health record management. Automated algorithms are capable of sifting through thousands of patient records to identify potential clinical errors and systematically measure patient safety in ways never before anticipated (Davenport, 2014). Discuss how social media can impact the present and future outlook on health care analytics.
On 31, December 2019, The World Health Organization was informed of cases of
pneumonia of unknown etiology (unknown cause) detected in Wuhan City, Hubei
Province in China. Later identified as the causative virus COVID-19. One month
later, Ontario confirmed its first presumptive case. Our world changed.
Discuss COVID-19 within the context of a chronic disease AND the Chronic Disease
Model (CCM). Speak to the implications from an economic, system, leadership, and
health care professionals’ perspectives. Examine relevant themes, such as covid as
it relates to stigma, the patient experience, self-management approaches, and future
recommendation or planning etc.
Hint:
A lot continues to happen since COVID-19 was declared a pandemic—however, focus
your response in the context of a chronic diseases and the CCM. Discuss the burden to
the health care system—i.e., if you replace diabetes for example with covid-19, what
similarities do you see? Use your Blackboard post discussions to guide your response.
Finally, I recognize this is similar to your last assignment and posts—but that was the
point. Now your task is to put covid in the context of a chronic disease, then apply the
relevant themes we discussed. This demonstrates your understanding of CD, and to see
if you can identify how the current narrative support and fit what we covered
Pharmaceutical companies have vociferously fought for the right to advertise and market their products (medications and procedures) directly to the public via mass media to make know the availability to as many persons as possible. This is done primarily under the constitutional right of free speech and freedom of the press. Medical associates have routinely opposed this insisting that the discussion of potential medications directly to the patient absent filtering by the physician leads to patients demanding medication that are not appropriate in their case. Which should be the case and why? Should medication ads be allowed to be mass marketed?

The purpose of this assessment is to allow you to define a patient, family, or population health problem that is relevant to your personal practice and to begin building a body of evidence that will inform your approach to your practice hours, the intervention you design, and the professional product you will deliver.
By successfully completing this assessment, you will demonstrate your proficiency in the course competencies through the following assessment scoring guide criteria:

Final Project Part II will involve the construction of a proposal for a health promotion teaching tool that will be of value for the patient. This activity will allow you the opportunity to discuss health literacy best practices and how you would use them to educate, inform, and empower your patient with regard to their health risks and/or healthy behaviors. For this final project, you will propose a health promotion teaching tool based on your assessment findings.
This assessment will address your mastery with regard to the following course outcomes:
Please answer following prompts below.
In your own words, describe how you would design a research course for a graduate level counseling program. What assignments would you include? What CACREP standards do you think would be the most essential to address during this course?
Teaching Research and Statistics: Initial Class
What strategies might you use to “hook” counseling students into a research course? What has worked for you in the past? Discuss at least two ideas.
Teaching Research and Statistics: Research Designs
Using the coffee study as an example, describe a “study” you could use to introduce the different types of research designs to graduate counseling students. Describe how this “study” could be explained as a quantitative study and then as a qualitative study.
Teaching Research and Statistics: Statistics
What popular culture theme might you choose to teach statistics? This could be a book, movie, television show, music genre, art, fashion, dance, drama, or game. Discuss one idea of how this popular culture theme might be applied to a statistics lesson (pick one statistics concept, such as hypothesis testing or sampling, and then explore your idea).
This discussion will be a follow-up to the video I posted in the Lecture area. I’d like you to think about the roles played by grades in our educational system. Based on the video discussion as well as your own thinking, talk about what you see as the main purpose and the main roles of grades, and grading, in college education. Consider these questions in your discussion post:
In the age of COVID-19, we as educators are faced with a number of dilemmas with regard to grading. One is pass/fail vs. standard letter grades. Another is making allowances for hardship, such as being subjected to broad changes in housing and education, by doing away with grades (or giving everyone an A).
Please watch this video, and pay special attention to the ethical and professional issues that are raised. We will talk more about those later. Don’t focus on “the right thing to do so” so much as on how these issues relate to our ideas about teaching and about evaluating students.

• What ethical and professional issues are arising in the discussion of grading in the era of COVID-19?• Based on the video and your own thinking about the issues, what roles do grades play in the educational system?• Are grades necessary? If so, why? If not, what alternate methods would you propose?• What are your ideas about grading during this period of national crisis? Should we change our policies and procedures, stay on course, or modify our practices with regard to grading?
Assignment 3: $5
In a Marriage and family theory class that you are teaching, what are the core ethical concepts you are teaching, that are embedded in the course content? In a Marriage and family theory class, what core ethical reasons are there to teach this developmental content to counselors in training?
