Write a paper that presents the critical reception of a play.

1. Write an original play. Include all the components of the play that we’ve studied this semester: Thought, Theme, Ideas; Action or Plot; Characters; Language; Music; and Spectacle. 2. Write a sequel to a play that we discussed in class. 3. Write an analysis of a play that was written after 2017. Check out the Pulitzer Prize winners for drama. Analyze how the play’s various components contribute to the play’s theme. 4. Write a paper that presents the critical reception of a play. To what do the critics agree? Disagree? How does reading criticism enrich or distract from interpretation and/or enjoyment of reading plays? 5. Score a play. Think about what music reflects the play’s elements. You can choose one scene to score or multiple scenes. Justify the music choice(s) by including a detailed analysis. 6. Write a paper that explores the various contexts that influenced the play.

Despite all the activities these digital assistants can complete, can we consider them intelligent?

Despite all the activities these digital assistants can complete, can we consider them intelligent? Should we be pushing the envelope further and attempting to make them think on their own? What does it mean to have computers that think, and if they could, what would they think of? Many believe this is a dangerous endeavor, and that we are just paving the road for our computer overlords. However, we should consider what we are creating, and are we creating to be better than us? There is something to be said about computers that use logic over emotion. They should be more practical and devoid of some of the less attractive attributes of human nature, namely prejudice, and bias. But are they? The article below from the New York Times depicts the view of three women working to develop Artificial intelligence. They outline the bias that could creep its way into the technology and some of the impacts it can have. (Links to an external site.) Read the article, then consider the following questions: What are some of the major concerns addressed by the women interviewed? What do you see as the significant contributors to the issues addressed? What are some ways to mitigate bias when developing AI? Once you have read the article, find another 1-2 sources that speak on the same topic. Develop a response that not only outlines the potential issues with AI bias but some possible remedies. This post, unlike other discussions, should be in the range of 900-1400 words in length. Be sure to cite all sources appropriately.

Create an e-mail draft you want to send to your committee members about an initial meeting to discuss the party.

You have just been appointed to head up the committee to plan the upcoming holiday party for your company, which employs around three hundred people. Susan, Mark, John, and Kathy have also been appointed to this committee. You have worked with Susan before and know that she will be a great worker. You have met Mark and Kathy, but do not know much about them. Unfortunately, you have heard that John can be difficult to work with. At any rate, you are really excited about planning this party and know that leading this committee will be a great opportunity to show your leadership skills. Based on this scenario and your understanding of how to write internal e-mails, respond to the following: Create an e-mail draft you want to send to your committee members about an initial meeting to discuss the party. In the e-mail, include any information you think is appropriate to get everyone excited and on board to make this the best holiday party ever. Then, respond to any two of the following: As you developed this e-mail, what did you consider including in the message? Why did you feel that was important to include? Were there any topics that you decided would be best not to include in this message? What were they and why did you choose not to include them?

The content of the review should demonstrate proper use of paraphrasing, quotations, and citations using APA Style guidelines. (Matrix of 4 – 6 peer-reviewed sources due Week 3. Annotated bibliography due Sunday of Week 4. Draft of full review due Sunday of Week 5.) – Discussion: Based on what you discover in your analysis, evaluate the merits of the professional approach(es) you have examined. Your critique must consider the available evidence regarding impacts on client well-being and on the conduct of practice, barriers to progress, any unintended consequences, and needed changes. If there are major flaws, be sure to note them while suggesting possible avenues for redress. (Draft due Sunday of Week 6) Briefly review your findings, assessing their significance and relevance for the social work profession.
