Topic: Reflect on the depiction of God in these two texts. In your post, think about what these depictions of God might tell us about these two cultures; what is one way in which they might be similar, and one way in which they might be different?
When reading the sacred texts from these two very different religions, I immediately think of an exalted entity, which creates a focus for each audience. Reading each text exclusively, the first similarity I noticed in both was a deity or higher source of power, who’s people were to follow guidance in order to reach gratified expectation. Although to my interpretation of the readings one praised a self-reflection, while the other maintained a bilateral relationship. The more I read into each scripture the more I noticed a common theme in both texts. First within the Holy Qur’an, it reiterated an interdependent relationship between God and those who followed, acknowledging faults of men to come but the forgiveness that could follow. Second, reading The Bhagavad Gita, the theme I noticed was the echoed praise of how powerful and almighty the deity was, expanding on the intertwined connections of all living things.

(Qur’an, 35: 45). Suras like this one expanded on an additional similarity between Christianity and Islam, allowing me to see how this religious scripture projected outward as opposed to The Bhagavad Gita. Although both sacred texts emphasized on connections each following group needed to make to be closer to God, each text reflected this is different ways to illuminate the direction of channeling this relationship.

The researcher wants to conduct a correlation to investigate further if there is a relationship between hours of sleep and reaction time. For this experiment, participants are allowed to sleep as much as they would like (that is, they are not assigned to sleep any specific number of hours). When 20 participants come to their appointment time, they report to the researcher how many hours of sleep they had the previous night. The researcher then tests their reaction times.

1- This question raises an interesting dilemma. On one hand every person that owns an access point to the internet should be able to maintain and protect it to a reasonable extent. In one sense the in-action of not protecting your machine, makes you a perpetrator. On the other hand, people being infected by viruses and unknowingly running a program that is harmful to others, is a victim. I would say that the act of running one of these scripts should not be punished, but they should be made to replace or wipe their hard drive for the protection of others on the network. I would say that being involved in a spam emailing service makes you both a victim and a perpetrator.
2- When I first moved out of my house and into a dorm in Freshman year of college, I had a habit of not locking my door. I didn’t think it was a huge deal because the dorm was in a hidden corner of the building and my roommate had essentially moved out to live with her friend. Typically, it only helped me because there were times when a friend would want to borrow something from my room and if I wasn’t home, I could just tell them to let themselves in. I also had a bad habit of leaving my keys in my pockets, so when I was running late, I didn’t have to worry about digging through my laundry to find the keys. However, once I moved back home a couple years later, I continued that same habit with the front door of my parents’ house, where people actually do try to break in. To fix this, we installed an electronic lock that automatically locks the door after anyone leaves or enters.
