From the beginning of man, the question has been asked of what turns men evil. Are some people just born evil or does something happen and makes them evil? In the Bhagaved-Gita this question is asked as well. When the question was asked about what pushes someone on an evil path? Krishana replied “Kama it is! Passion it is! born of the darkness’s, which pusheth him. (3) in many story’s passion or love pushes people to do evil things. Even today passion and love cause people to do some of the evilest things possible.

When looking at Sura how someone should take what it says and how it can be implemented in life there are many lessons. When looking at any religious texts people need to what should be taken literally and what should be taken figuratively. Most would agree that when a religious text takes about love these things should be taken literally but when parts of these texts take about demands or evil it should be taken figuratively.

When looking at both texts and what they say about god we can find many similarities. For example, in The Bhagavads Gita it is written “Equally loving all that lives, loves well

Me, Who have made them, and attains to Me.” (18) and in the Holy Qur’an it is written “How can ye reject, The faith in God?—Seeing that ye were without life, And He gave you life, Then will He cause you to die, And will again bring you to life; And again to Him will ye return.(Section 2, 28.) both of these texts are talking about love and love the creator, or God. When we look at both writings they talk about this but in Sura it speaks a lot more about being servant to god and the reward of doing so.

Explain your position on the relationship between research and social change

  • Evaluate the purpose statement.

The Purpose Statement Checklist serves as a guide for your evaluation. Please do not respond to the checklist in a Yes/No format in writing your Discussion post.

  • Analyze alignment among the theory, research problem, and purpose.
  • Explain your position on the relationship between research and social change

Use the following criteria to evaluate an author’s purpose statement. Look for indications of the following: • Does the statement begin with signaling words? • Does the statement identify the research approach (quantitative, qualitative, or mixed)? • Does the statement clearly state the intent of the study? • Does the statement mention the participants? • Does the statement mention the research site? • Is the statement framed in a way that is consistent with the identified problem? If the study is qualitative, does the purpose statement do as follows? • Focus on a single phenomenon • Use an action verb to convey how learning will take place • Use neutral, nondirectional language • Provide a general definition of the central phenomenon If the study is quantitative, does the purpose statement do as follows? • Identify the variables under study • Provide a general definition of each key variable • Use words that connect the variables • Identify a theory If the study is mixed methods, does the purpose statement do as follows? • Discuss the reason(s) for mixing both quantitative and qualitative data

In your post, think about what these depictions of God might tell us about these two cultures; what is one way in which they might be similar, and one way in which they might be different?

Topic: Reflect on the depiction of God in these two texts. In your post, think about what these depictions of God might tell us about these two cultures; what is one way in which they might be similar, and one way in which they might be different?

When reading the sacred texts from these two very different religions, I immediately think of an exalted entity, which creates a focus for each audience. Reading each text exclusively, the first similarity I noticed in both was a deity or higher source of power, who’s people were to follow guidance in order to reach gratified expectation. Although to my interpretation of the readings one praised a self-reflection, while the other maintained a bilateral relationship. The more I read into each scripture the more I noticed a common theme in both texts. First within the Holy Qur’an, it reiterated an interdependent relationship between God and those who followed, acknowledging faults of men to come but the forgiveness that could follow. Second, reading The Bhagavad Gita, the theme I noticed was the echoed praise of how powerful and almighty the deity was, expanding on the intertwined connections of all living things.

If God were to punish Men according to what They deserve, He would not Leave on the back Of the (earth) a single Living creature: but He Gives them respite For a stated Term: When their Term expires, Verily God has in His sight All His servants. (Qur’an, 35: 45). Suras like this one expanded on an additional similarity between Christianity and Islam, allowing me to see how this religious scripture projected outward as opposed to The Bhagavad Gita.  Although both sacred texts emphasized on connections each following group needed to make to be closer to God, each text reflected this is different ways to illuminate the direction of channeling this relationship.

Based on the hypotheses you stated, explain whether the researcher should conduct a one-tailed or two-tailed test.

The researcher wants to conduct a correlation to investigate further if there is a relationship between hours of sleep and reaction time. For this experiment, participants are allowed to sleep as much as they would like (that is, they are not assigned to sleep any specific number of hours). When 20 participants come to their appointment time, they report to the researcher how many hours of sleep they had the previous night. The researcher then tests their reaction times.

To complete this Assignment, submit your answers to the following. Use SPSS to determine if amount of sleep is related to reaction time.

Before computing the correlation, state the null hypothesis and alternative hypothesis in words (not formulas).

Based on the hypotheses you stated, explain whether the researcher should conduct a one-tailed or two-tailed test.

Identify the correlation coefficient (r) for this data set using SPSS and report it in your answer document.

State the degrees of freedom and explain how you calculated it by hand.

Identify the p value using SPSS and report it in your answer document.

Explain whether the researcher should retain or reject the null hypothesis.

Are the results statistically significant? Explain how you know.

Explain what the researcher can conclude about the relationship between amount of sleep and reaction times. Include a description of the direction and strength of the relationship.
